Membership is an open invitation to investigate the many forms of trance, exchange ideas with other members and profit from the experiences of others who have experienced both the power of trance as well as the beauty and fascination of special inner states... And equally important, as a member of the Trance Research Foundation, you provide your family, colleagues and friends with important information they can use...learn from...What do we do exactly?
The Trance Research Foundation studies and supports research into all kinds of trance phenomena. And by that we include meditation, hypnosis, addictions, charisma and electronic and chemical means of inducing trance. We also include brainwashing, mind control, cults, music, ritual and dance, and advertising as part of the focus of our interest.
Maybe you are not clear on exactly what meditation is. Or maybe you already practice a form of meditation. The chances are we can contribute to your understanding of meditation, no matter what the form of your practice is.
And you might already have a good idea of what hypnosis is. But you probably don't realize all the ways that it is used on you without either your awareness or permission. Increasing the public awareness of trance abuse and how to prevent it is another of our main goals.
You don't read much about trance in newspapers or magazines. It doesn't seem like news... yet
- You can't fly an airplane into a building if you are not in a trance. Terrorists who commit suicide in this way develop deep trances as part of their religious practices ... but in doing so they abandon their critical judgement. While we are not opposed to any religion, we analyze those trances and develop methods to simplify, break or modify them.
- Listen to President Bush sometime. Do you think he might be using hypnotic techniques? If you knew what the hypnotic voice is, and could recognize embedded commands, you wont have any doubt that George Bush or his controller is a master hypnotist and is using hypnosis to influence public opinion in hypnotic ways. Is this ethical? Does it contribute to an informed democracy?
Maybe you don't read about trance anywhere, but you will agree that it is important. We study these important events and analyze the trances.
Here are some important facts about trance you can't ignore:
- Even though you don't see shows about trance on TV, you must be in a trance in order to enjoy TV. In fact, studies have shown that you will go into a trance less than 30 seconds after you start to watch TV.
- It's also a fact that 98% of the American public have one or more TV's and watch TV more than five hours a day. If you have to be in a trance to enjoy TV, then trance is really a major part of American life whether you know it or not.
Do you know what an electronic trance is?
- * During Desert Storm, AWAC planes flew over Iraq and broadcasted subliminal ultrasonic microwave hypnotic commands to the iraqi army to get them to surrender. It was successful beyond anyone's expectations...
Using electronic warfare trance induction techniques like this is known to neurophysiologists, but not to the general public.
Do you know what such weapons could do in America?
There's even more.
You know what a compulsive disorder is.
* Over-eating, * shopping without need, * sex and love addictions, * alcohol and drug addiction
... our society is full of such profound disorders.

And they can be treated as a trance disorder. But most people don't know about trance analysis or how to even recognize a trance.

When you join us as a Founding Member you are helping to fund an important source of public information, research and study that will become more and more well-known the more people join.
The Trance Research Foundation is more than a web site of information and more than mere words about trance. We also support your personal efforts to recognize and to break your own trances through personal programs of trance analysis.
Through the Trance Institute we sponsor courses in meditation, hypnosis, addictive trances, charismatic trances, electronic construction and measurement of trance forces as well as teacher and analyst training.
We sponsor academic and scientific investigations in recognized universities in order to extend knowledge about meditation, hypnosis, addiction and charisma. We invite directors of Ph.D. programs to submit project proposals and grant requests to us.
At the same time, we urge other interested foundations to contact us regarding sponsoring of specific research projects.
This is needed but, what does it cost?
General membership in the Trance Research Foundation is only $50 per year.
Membership entitles you to access the Member's Area of our web site. There you can follow the discussions of other members, and you can also vote on special issues that confront the Foundation. Every year all members vote to elect from among themselves the best qualified to become Directors of the Foundation.
Remember, with your membership application today, you will receive as my gift to you, a copy of The Way of Trance.
Although we are specifically looking for Founding members, you are welcome to join us in whatever membership category that fits your needs and capacities. You will have the same benefits as any other member.
The question to join us or not comes down to this:
Would you rather be entranced and remain entranced, or would you rather become a trance virtuoso?
Joining the Trance Research Foundation means that you have decided to join with those who are trance virtuosos.
I want to mention one other important matter before you decide to send in your membership.
The events of September 11 pointed out to me how important it is to institutionalize the public study of trance and to expose the effects of trance gone wrong in our society. As we go into the 21st century developing our minds and human pyschology in new and powerful and sensitive ways is critical.
The Trance Research Foundation is a California non-profit Public Benefit corporation, with both California and IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
The formation of the Trance Research Foundation is an important development which - with your support - will sustain and promote the ideas of the trance model far into the future.
