The Division of Research and Scholarly Activities, under the leadership of the Vice President for Research, supports university research communites through delivery of sponsored program and a suite of annual grant competitions. services.

Sponsored Programs

The Sponsored Programs group supports university faculty by submitting proposals and negotiating contracts for externally sponsored projects, administering sponsor awards, providing management data on sponsored projects, managing intellectual property, and providing research communication services. Research Communications

Foundation Research Communications serves the academic community by providing a combination of print media (including newsletters, brochures, and conference materials), World Wide Web-based information, and research support services.

Annual Grant Competitions

When funded the Foundation supports a broad range of trance research and scholarly activities for university and graduate students. These funds are awarded, following recommendations from the relavant school deans, and the Trance Research Foundation Advisory Board through a set of annual grant competitions.

Faculty Research Grants

Faculty Research Grants are awarded for research projects that support graduate students engaged in trance research for their Ph.D.

Summer Faculty Grants

These grants enable academic-year faculty in the early years of their careers to continue full-time scholarly work in trance related areas during the summer months.

International Travel Grants

These grants assist faculty in scholarly attainment by providing a portion of the transportation costs to participate in recognized international meetings.

Summer Research Grants

These grants provide summer support for students who have held graduate teaching appointments during the academic year to expedite progress on thesis research.

Doctoral Fellowship Program

This program, funded jointly by the Foundation and the university' School, provides fellowships to graduate students pursuing the Ph.D.

Equipment Matching Fund

This fund assists faculty by contributing to institutional cost sharing required to compete for major research equipment awards from federal sponsors.

Special Incentive Research Grants

These grants, which are awarded to interdisciplinary graduate programs for the support of graduate Ph.D. research, reward attempts to actively seek external support for their students.
